On September 12th, 2024, HipCity was in attendance during the press conference held by Solidarity Empowerment Initiative to unveil its ambitious plan to empower 10 million Nigerian women and youths annually. The initiative aims to address the socio-economic challenges facing these groups, including poverty and unemployment.
The initiative will provide skill acquisition, capacity development, and empowerment programs through existing government infrastructure and partnerships with like-minded organizations. A key component is the establishment of empowerment centers across the 774 local government areas in Nigeria. These centers will serve as community hubs, offering vocational training, business support, and leadership development tailored to meet local needs.
By bringing the initiative closer to the people, the Solidarity Empowerment Initiative (SEI) aims to empower millions of Nigerians at the grassroots level, ensuring no one is left behind. The project received applause from attendees, with questions raised about funding, collaborations, strategies, and methods to achieve the goals.
The Solidarity Empowerment Club announced that a meeting will be convened to present and discuss a detailed plan with all partners. Partners are encouraged to share the initiative with their audience. A date will also be set for a comprehensive presentation and discussion to launch the project.
